Wednesday 26th June 2024 was colourful at the Kyembogo station of NARO Rwebitaba ZARDI as head teachers and teachers of Geography and Agriculture from the schools in the Rwenzori region toured the demonstrations and mother gardens for various commodities at the station. Close to 80 people flocked the institute and were trained in enterprises like honey processing and all its needed equipment. The team also visited stingless bees, bananas, hass avocado, macadamia nuts, as well as coffee.

Other enterprises visited include goat rearing, cattle on zero grazing, pasture grasses, maize, beans and fish. The teachers were also surprised at the agro-meteorological station that is hosted at the station.

One of the teachers said that she had always been teaching about green leaf desmodium among the pastures but had never seen it physically. Indeed the teachers were shown a variety of pastures and trained on their attributes.
The head of Technology Promotion and Outreach program at the institute Dr. Kenneth Akankwasa encouraged the teachers to bring their students for filed visits and learning as well as share with members of the community about how to make the most of the two stations.

The institute also hosted a team of ministers from Tooro kingdom on Thursday 27th June 2024 in a priority setting exercise for the enterprises that NARO and the kingdom will collaborate in promoting in Tooro.
Located in Rwengaaju, Kabarole District, Rwebitaba ZARDI serves the districts of Kyegegwa, Kyenjojo, Ntoroko, Bundibugyo, Bunyangabu, Kasese, Kamwenge, Kitagwenda, Fortportal City and the host, Kabarole District.
